Unique Camera Features

Vcom, Vpix, VIR and XLight
XLight provides superior color-related information and offer more effective information

The primary purpose of video surveillance is to see clearly any time of the day or night, in all weather and lighting conditions. IP cameras must be well designed to provide high-resolution and clear quality images in different lighting conditions. The XLight technology is an innovative technology that delivers vivid color, appropriate brightness and extremely good and clear images in extreme-low light conditions. XLight technology vastly improves the image brightness with a large Iris design & BSI back illuminated sensor. With the specially designed large size sensors, VNS IP cameras have higher photo sensitivity and feature high Signal-to-Noise Ratios.

VNS’s unique technology also improves the definition and brightness of images and it features a new generation of noise reduction technology to improve Signal-to-Noise Ratio and reduce blurring. It effectively reduces blurring specially when objects are in motion, which ensures that the image is restored to the true scene. XLight technology guarantees the image produced is rich in color under extremely low light conditions.

XLight Technology
Challenges & Solutions

In low-light XLight provides superior color-related information un-achieved by competitors and offer more effective information. As an example, vehicles and suspects personal identities such as facial features of a suspect, their clothing color, color and license plate of their vehicle, its brand and other pertinent information that can help expedite the apprehension of the suspect is available through XLight cameras. VNS devoted significant resources to the research and development of this unique technology and now, XLight technology is available and provides unmatched detail, brightness, and realistic colors, along with clear images in the extreme-low light scenes.

Recommended Applications

XLight technology meets the surveillance requirements of users for high-quality images needed throughout the day or night. The VNS XLight cameras can be used in many applications, where low light is expected including, parking lots, malls, airports, hotels, hospitals schools or any low-illumination scenes that users need.

Vpix Technology
Vpix technology to protect your investment and provide longer product life than competitive models

As established earlier that primary purpose of video surveillance is to see clearly any time of the day or night, in all weather and lighting conditions, therefore security cameras need to be well designed to produce high-resolution and vivid color images in different lighting conditions. When insufficient light enters the sensor due to very low light in the scene, the infrared ray can be a good option as a light compensation method to help display black and white images. VNS applies unique Vpix design to achieve accurate and sensitive detection of real surveillance scene illumination. VNS Sprint Series cameras are implemented with Vpix technology to protect your investment and provide longer product life than competitive models.

Typical Camera Hardware Failure Point

Hardware elements have relatively long response times. They will recover in a few minutes after been influenced by specific illuminations in the scene. Moreover, electronic components have a limited service life and failure probability, which indicates that users are highly susceptible to replace the whole device due to the small hardware failure, causing extra expense in the long run if any hardware is dependent on inaccurate mechanical or electronic component.

Impact on Environmental Performance
Weatherproof

It is necessary that a security camera design must meet the highest requirement of operational reliability. Cameras need to fit into any environment and provide stability in any challenging environmental conditions. However, Photo-resistor and photo-diode have limited water and dust resistance, therefore they are especially easy to be damaged under extremely adverse weather condition, which promptly reduces their performance and service life.

How does Vpix Technology Work?

The innovative Vpix makes enormous transformation through an Image Signal Processor smart algorithm that is combined with our advanced sensor which has a particular pixel photo receptive performance to appreciate precise day and night changes. The sensor is more effective to detect illumination of captured information with its high-precision pixel units before image signal processing. Furthermore, the comprehensive data of the light will chart to a related RGB pixel curve, then smart Image Signal Processor algorithm can be useful to logically examine and process the curve to accurately estimate real time scene brightness. This process allows cameras to determine if the IR cut must to be switched.

265+ Vcom Technology
Under the same configuration, 265+ Vcom Technology only costs one hard disk to store the same video record which needs four hard disks

Since the invent of CCTV cameras, the demand for higher resolution images has been continuously increasing. Today, 4K and 8K images are being produced that can be 25-50 times higher and bigger than the D1 resolution, however, this also pose a challenge for storage space, throughput and transmission bandwidth.

Using an example of H.264 compression at 4K bitrates is about 8Mbps, requiring nearly 600GB storage space for weekly 24/7 recording. Subsequently, the IP camera will need 20Mbps or more bandwidth to support live and storage streams, which poses an enormous challenge for transmission infrastructure.

To ensure the HD surveillance, storage and bandwidth expenditure is manageable. VNS has embarked on an unprecedented effort to exploit HEVC coding standard in cooperation with our strategic technology partners and offering a unique coding technique. The combination of unique coding and H.265 is an end to end solution which can save up to 95% storage space and 75% storage cost, brings great convenience to users. The unique coding has been updated into a more powerful and intelligent version in the CY2020 update than before.

Additionally, Vcom is able to be applied on all streams, which means it can reduce bandwidth for multiple users by combining different technologies, we can squeeze up to 95% bandwidth and storage space.

Innovative Compression Technology

Unlike conventional video compression technologies which try to reduce storage costs by sacrificing resolution and frame rate indiscriminately, Vcom chooses to use “IRP” (Intelligent Region Perception) to detect motion in each frame. Hence, scenes containing interesting information could be preserved while the other relatively static areas such as lawns, white walls could be squeezed to save storage.

In order to reduce bandwidth, Vcom applies dynamic GOP (Group of Pictures) technique, which suggests the time interval between critical I frames of the GOP can be dynamically adjusted by analyzing the picture variety trend. In other words, as the surveillance picture tends to be static, the GOP is elongated, while it tends to be movement, the GOP becomes shorter. Meanwhile, it uses V.I (virtual I frame) to ensure that media has a keyframe that contains critical information so that the NVR can run the Frame Accurate Search and Quick Playback.

Furthermore, Vcom supports frame rate controlling for different video content, we call it the dynamic frame rate. It is used to automatically maintain high frame rate monitoring for many moving objects but decrease the frame rate for few moving objects cases. No more details will be missed for complex surveillance pictures, and no more storage will be wasted for simple monitoring situation.

Surveillance Video Compression H.265+

Under the same configuration, 265+ Vcom only costs one hard disk to store the same video record which needs four hard disks under H.264, saving 75% storage cost. Customers would benefit from both storage cost and deployment cost from Vcom.

Moreover, 265+ Vcom retains the image quality enhancement brought by H.265, reduces the image distortion caused by code compression to a great extent, optimizes image blur, trailing smear and rough of stroke edge, and improves the accuracy of VCA. Besides the advancements list above, Vcom also breaks the bottleneck of HD resolution. It enables customers to make full use of Super HD surveillance products like 4K under current bandwidth and storage deployment. Vcom is the best choice for customers to enter into the era of Super HD.
